Starbound LLC operates the catcher/processor Starbound. The Starbound was built in Anacortes, WA and began fishing operations in Alaska in 1989. In 1992, Starbound contracted with Aleutian Pribilof Island Community Development Association (APICDA) to enhance the fishing opportunities for APICDA community residents and to develop a sustainable economic base in those communities by utilizing the fishery resources of the Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands. The relationship between Starbound and APICDA has been so successful, APICDA bought into the Vessel in 1999.
